Hey, I'm Ashley!

Digital Content Creator. PR Writer. Graphic Designer. Photographer. Website Developer. Marketer. Strategic Communicator.

Education for Strategic Communication

In college, I studied Strategic Communication for my major, and I minored in Spanish. With this degree, I have learned brand strategies, graphic design, PR and promotional writing tactics, audio and video editing, social media content creation, website design and development, and other practices related to the field of Marketing and Communications. I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Liberty University in December of 2023 with a final GPA of 3.97.

Industry Experience

In the summer of 2023, I interned at The Heights Baptist Church with the Children's Department. During this internship, I filled several marketing and communications related roles. One of my main tasks was photography for the children and youth events, including camps, retreats, and regular activity on Sunday mornings. This gave me a lot of practice and experience in photography that I would not have otherwise gained without this internship. Other tasks included the graphic designing of the youth camp T-shirt, posters for promoting events and recruitment, and retreat booklets. I was also asked to proof some of the writing for these booklets and give a thorough critique of the church website for design, layout, and content improvements.

During my final semester of my undergraduate degree, I applied and interviewed for a position on the Innovations Student PR & Marketing class at Liberty University. While this was a class environment, everything I learned and experienced was practical and useful for my degree. I was placed on a team within this class and named the Account Representative and Writer, and our team was paired with a real client in Lynchburg: R. Coffee LtD. As the Account Representative, I led client meetings, communicated information from the team to our professor and client, and worked as the overall communication point between the client and the team. During the semester, we met with the store manager as a team on a weekly basis and came up with four deliverables for their business based on their target audience, client profile, and ideal state after the semester ended. This opportunity taught me about working with a real client, how to communicate effectively as an Account Representative, and how to efficiently work on a team where each person fills a specific role for the best outcome for clients.
